Movie Making Summer Camp at North Park University

Want to make movies? Learn from the teaching pros at Community TV Network, Chicago’s premier youth digital media organization for over 30 years. CTVN, with the sponsorship of North Park University, is offering a 2-week filmmaking course this summer for high school students.  Students will learn the fundamentals of digital movie making using a hands-on, team-oriented approach. Participants will advance from planning and storyboarding, to using cameras, lighting and sound equipment, to digital editing. The final session will include a screening of student work for family and friends, with each student receiving a copy of his or her work from the session.

Dates: Monday through Friday, July 8 to 19 from 9 am to 1 pm.

Location: North Park University’s Chicago campus at 3225 W. Foster Avenue.

Instructors: Our distinguished teaching artists all have Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in film and media from top national schools and have produced dozens of their own films. Fees: The cost of the 10-day session, including equipment use, supplies, and daily snack is $495. Parents: You may claim $100 of this fee as a charitable contribution to the work of CTVN with disadvantaged urban youth. CTVN is a 501(c)3 organization. The application deadline is May 31, but spaces are limited to 15 participants, so register soon! Full payment is due no later than June 30. Cancellations before May 31 are subject to a $25. fee.

No refunds after May 31.
