After School

In partnership with After School Matters and Chicago Public Schools, CTVN offers after school programs for youth all over Chicago, from Schurz High School in Irving Park to Bowen High school on the south side.

The CTVN Youth Media Center in Logan Square is the hub of all Leadership Track activity, offering apprenticeships, advanced apprenticeships, internships and more!

In the 2011-2012 school year, CTVN runs four after school youth media programs that teach media literacy and video production skills.

In CTVN’s after school programs, students learn every aspect of the production process, from brainstorming and story boarding an idea, to painstakingly editing each clip to perfection. As part of our social justice based curriculum, students use critical thinking skills to develop their own perspective on community issues that they express through media.

CTVN currently offers after school programs at the following sites:

• SOAR @ Memorial Park (Blue Island Park District)
